AN ACT CONCERNING THE RENTAL REBATE PROGRAM.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That (1) subsection (c) of section 12-170d of the 2014 supplement to the general statutes be deleted to (A) remove the prohibition on eligible new applicants receiving state rebates of rental and utility payments, and (B) end the permanent disqualification of rebate recipients who failed to reapply, and (2) that the sum of _____ be appropriated to restore the rental rebate program to the funding level that existed in the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2013.

Statement of Purpose:

To restore funding to the rental rebate program so that new applicants and previous recipients who failed to reapply are eligible for critical financial assistance.
