BILL NUMBER: SB 719 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Correa FEBRUARY 22, 2013 An act to amend Section 63 of the Military and Veterans Code, relating to veterans. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 719, as introduced, Correa. Department of Veterans Affairs. Existing law establishes the Department of Veterans Affairs within state government and sets forth its powers and duties, including, but not limited to, administration of veterans benefits programs. This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 63 of the Military and Veterans Code is amended to read: 63. There is hereby established in the state government a Department of Veterans Affairs.
