An act to add Section 64.2 to the Harbors and Navigation Code, relating to harbors and navigation.

SB 704, Galgiani. Division of Boating and Waterways: invasive aquatic plants control programs.
Existing law establishes the Division of Boating and Waterways in the Department of Parks and Recreation and designates the division as the lead agency of the state for the purpose of cooperating with other state, local, and federal agencies in identifying, detecting, controlling, and administering programs to manage invasive aquatic plants in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, its tributaries, and the Suisun Marsh.
This bill would require that division, to the extent feasible, to collaborate with the California Conservation Corps and use members of the corps in implementing its invasive aquatic plants control programs, as provided.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 64.2 is added to the Harbors and Navigation Code, to read:

64.2.
 To the extent feasible, the division shall collaborate with the California Conservation Corps established pursuant to Division 12 (commencing with Section 14000) of the Public Resources Code and use members of the corps in implementing its invasive aquatic plants control programs in the delta, its tributaries, and the marsh.
