An act relating to wildfires.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 800, as introduced, Gabriel. Wildfires: mitigation and prevention.
Existing law establishes various programs for the prevention, detection, and mitigation of wildfires. Existing law requires the Director of Forestry and Fire Protection to classify lands within state responsibility areas into fire hazard severity zones and, by regulation, to designate fire hazard severity zones and assign each zone a rating reflecting the degree of severity of fire hazard that is expected to prevail in the zone.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to improve wildfire mitigation and prevention.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to improve wildfire mitigation and prevention.
