LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 3189, as introduced, Medina.
Postsecondary education: Donahoe Higher Education Act.
Existing law, the Donahoe Higher Education Act, sets forth the missions and functions of the segments comprising the state’s postsecondary education system. These segments are the University of California, administered by the Regents of the University of California, the California State University, administered by the Trustees of the California State University, the California Community Colleges, administered by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, independent institutions of higher education, and private postsecondary educational institutions.
This bill would add to the act a provision declaring a finding of the Legislature that there is a need for more housing to be provided for students at the campuses of the postsecondary educational institutions of this state.
