CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE—
2017–2018 REGULAR SESSION
Assembly Bill | No. 3123 |
Introduced by Assembly Member Limón |
February 16, 2018 |
An act to amend Section 10001 of the Public Utilities Code, relating to municipal corporations.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 3123, as introduced, Limón.
Utilities owned by municipal corporations.
Existing law authorizes a municipal corporation to acquire, construct, own, operate, or lease any public utility and authorizes a municipal corporation to operate a public utility within or without the corporate limits when necessary to supply the municipality, or its inhabitants or any portion thereof, with the service desired. Existing law defines “public utility” for these purposes.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the provision defining “public utility.”
