An act to amend Section 9000 of the Elections Code, relating to elections.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 2990, as introduced, Low. Elections: initiative and referendum measures.

Existing law sets forth procedures for the preparation and circulation of initiative and referendum petitions. Existing law specifies that these procedures apply only to initiative and referendum measures affecting the Constitution or laws of the state.

This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the latter provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 Section 9000 of the Elections Code is amended to read:

9000.

 This article applies only to initiative and referendum measures affecting that affect the Constitution or laws of the state.
