AB 2496, as introduced, Low. Deep sedation and general anesthesia.

Existing law, the Dental Practice Act, establishes the Dental Board of California for the licensure and regulation of dentists and dental assistants. That law regulates the use of deep sedation and general anesthesia in dental procedures, including the requirement that a dentist possess a general anesthesia permit issued by the board in order to administer or order the administration of deep sedation or general anesthesia on an outpatient basis for dental patients.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to deep sedation and general anesthesia.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to deep sedation and general anesthesia.
