LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
The Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 establishes a program under which the State Allocation Board is required to provide state per-pupil funding for new construction and modernization of school facilities. Existing law requires the board to determine the total funding eligibility of a school district for modernization funding by multiplying certain per-pupil amounts by the number of pupils housed in a permanent school building that is more than 25 years old or a portable classroom that is at least 20 years old. Existing law requires the board to adopt regulations to adjust those per-pupil amounts for modernization projects for school buildings that are 50 years old or older.
This bill would repeal the requirement for the board to adopt those regulations.
