An act relating to forestry.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 1322, as introduced, Friedman. Forestry: state forests: management.
Existing law requires the management of state forests to conform to regulations prepared by the Director of Forestry and Fire Protection and approved by the State Board of Forestry and Fire Protection.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to ensure that forests owned and managed by the state are managed in a way that provides climate and biodiversity benefits and that the state pursues opportunities for tribal comanagement of state forests.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to ensure that forests owned and managed by the state are managed in a way that provides climate and biodiversity benefits and that the state pursues opportunities for tribal comanagement of state forests.
