AB 1034, as introduced, Wilson. Biometric information: law enforcement: surveillance.
Existing law, the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020, approved by the voters as Proposition 24 at the November 3, 2020, statewide general election, establishes various rights that a consumer, as defined, has with respect to any personal information, including biometric information, as defined, that a business has collected from a consumer.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation protecting the rights of Californians against the use of biometric surveillance by law enforcement.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation protecting the rights of Californians against the use of biometric surveillance by law enforcement.
