AN ACT

 

Requiring the department of transportation to conduct an engineering study of intersections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Department of transportation engineering study; report; delayed repeal

A.  The department of transportation shall conduct an engineering study of each intersection, as defined in section 28‑601, Arizona Revised Statutes, that contains a photo enforcement system, as defined in section 28‑601, Arizona Revised Statutes.  The study shall include a review of both of the following as compared to a similar intersection without a photo enforcement system:

1.  The traffic flow patterns.

2.  The safety record.

B.  The department of transportation shall submit a report regarding the study and recommendations for administrative or legislative action on or before December 15, 2012 to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.

C.  This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2013.
