AN ACT

 

amending title 28, chapter 3, article 15, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 28‑913; relating to driving.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 28, chapter 3, article 15, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 28-913, to read:

START_STATUTE28-913.  Animals on lap; prohibition; civil penalty; definition

A.  A person may not operate a vehicle while an animal is on the person's lap.

B.  A person who violates this section is subject to a civil penalty of one hundred dollars.

C.  For the purposes of this section, "animal" means a mammal, bird, reptile or amphibian. END_STATUTE
