AN ACT

 

appropriating monies to the department of veterans' services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; department of veterans' services; facility; Mohave county; exemption

A.  The sum of $25,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the department of veterans' services to construct and establish a veterans' home facility in Mohave county.

B.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is intended to be this state's share of the costs and is not subject to expenditure for any purpose unless the department of veterans' services has irrevocable commitments from the United States government to fund at least sixty-five percent of the total costs.

C.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations, except that any amount of the appropriation that is unexpended and unencumbered on June 30, 2024 reverts to the state general fund.

Sec. 2.  Emergency

This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law.
