AN ACT

 

amending section 15‑231.02, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Section 15-231.02, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE15-231.02School safety clearinghouse; program termination

A.  The department of education shall establish a central clearinghouse within the department for information concerning school safety.  The department shall employ at least one person to carry out the duties of the clearinghouse.  The clearinghouse shall:

1.  Respond to requests from the public for information about school safety.

2.  Serve as the central repository for violence prevention curriculum curricula, programs and strategies relating to school safety.

3.  Establish and maintain a school violence prevention web site website for school and public use.

B.  The program established by this section ends on July 1, 2010 2015 pursuant to section 41‑3102. END_STATUTE
