An Act
amending title 16, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-406.01; relating to conduct of elections.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 16, chapter 4, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-406.01, to read:
16-406.01. Inspection of voting equipment; elected officials; access
NOTWITHSTANDING any other law, any elected official in this state may inspect any and all voting equipment used in a jurisdiction while accompanied by an expert of the elected official's choice. On request of the elected official, the inspection shall include access to all source code and other proprietary material related to the voting equipment. An elected official may conduct the inspection at any time but may not disrupt the voting process on election day. The elected official and ACCOMPANYING expert are legally bound to keep all information received from this inspection confidential unless the elected official or the accompanying expert has a good faith belief that the voting equipment is malfunctioning or being exploited in any manner that violates any election law.
