AN ACT

 

Amending title 20, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 20‑124; relating to health insurance.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 20, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 20-124, to read:

START_STATUTE20-124.  Preexisting condition exclusions or limitations; prohibition; definition

A.  Notwithstanding any other law, a health care insurer may not include any preexisting condition exclusions or limitations in any health plan issued in this state.

B.  For the purposes of this section, "health care insurer" has the same meaning prescribed in section 20‑2501. END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Conforming legislation

The legislative council staff shall prepare proposed legislation conforming the Arizona Revised Statutes to the provisions of this act for consideration in the fifty‑fourth legislature, second regular session.
