AN ACT
amending title 41, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding chapter 51; relating to government reporting.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding chapter 51, to read:
CHAPTER 51
DANGER TO SELF AND OTHERS REPORTING
ARTICLE 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS
41-5051. Government reporting; danger to self or others; civil liability
A. This state, any political subdivision of this state or any other governmental entity, including an institution of higher education, shall make a report using a behavioral health crisis line of an appropriate local or regional behavioral health authority if an employee of the reporting entity is suspended on at least two separate occasions or terminated from employment due to actions that constitute an imminent danger to that individual or others.
B. An institution of higher education shall make a report using a behavioral health crisis line of an appropriate local or regional behavioral health authority if a student who is enrolled in the institution is suspended on at least two separate occasions or expelled due to actions that constitute an imminent danger to that individual or others.
C. This section does not create a cause of action and civil liability may not be imposed on a reporting entity for providing or not providing any information specified in subsections A and B of this section.
