AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 5, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-509; relating to school employees.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 5, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-509, to read:

START_STATUTE15-509.  Teacher in-service training days; scheduling; definition

A.  If a school district schedules teacher in‑service training days during a school year, those in‑service training days must be conducted on days that correspond to an election date prescribed in section 16‑204.

B.  For the purposes of this section, "Teacher in‑service training day" means a designated day during the school year in which classes are not held and teachers are required to report to the school or another site for training, professional development, team-building exercises, meetings, lesson planning, self‑study or any combination of these tasks.   END_STATUTE
