AN ACT
amending Title 8, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 8-818; relating to the department of child safety.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 8, chapter 4, article 8, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 8-818, to read:
8-818. Investigation; schools for children with disabilities; definitions
A. A child safety worker or a child safety investigator may enter a school that teaches a child with disabilities to investigate a report of abuse of such a child at the school.
B. For the purposes of this section:
1. "Child" means both of the following:
(a) An individual who is under eighteen years of age.
(b) An individual who is at least eighteen and under twenty‑three years of age and who is enrolled in high school.
2. "child with disabilities" means a child who is any of the following:
(a) Identified as having a disability under section 504 of the rehabilitation act of 1973 (29 United States Code section 794).
(b) Identified by a school district or by an independent third party pursuant to section 15‑2403, subsection I as a child with a disability as defined in section 15‑731 or 15‑761.
(c) A child with a disability who is eligible to receive services from a school district under section 15‑763.
(d) A child with a disability as defined in 42 United States code section 12102.
