HOUSE BILL 2603

 

 

AN ACT

 

amending section 13‑3414, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to drug offenses.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Section 13-3414, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:

START_STATUTE13-3414.  Notice of conviction to be sent to licensing board and the department of economic security; suspension or revocation of license or registration

On the conviction of a person of an offense in this chapter, a copy of the judgment and sentence, and of the opinion of the court or magistrate, if any opinion is filed, shall be sent by the clerk of the court, or by the magistrate, to all of the following:

1.  The board or officer, if any, by whom the convicted defendant has been licensed or registered to practice a profession or to carry on a business.  On the conviction of any such person, the court may, in its discretion, may suspend or revoke the license or registration of the convicted defendant to practice the profession or to carry on the business. On the application of any person whose license or registration has been suspended or revoked, and upon on proper showing and for good cause, such the board or officer may reinstate the license or registration.

2.  If the court has knowledge that the convicted person receives temporary assistance for needy families cash benefits, the department of economic security. END_STATUTE
