AN ACT
repealing Section 41-3010.16, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3020.16; relating to the department of gaming.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Repeal
Section 41-3010.16, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3020.16, to read:
41-3020.16. Department of gaming; termination July 1, 2020
A. the department of gaming terminates on July 1, 2020.
B. Title 5, chapter 6 is repealed on January 1, 2021.END_STATUTE
Sec. 3. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the department of gaming to carry out the responsibilities of the state gaming agency in compacts executed by the state and Indian tribes of this state pursuant to the Indian gaming regulatory act of 1988 (25 United States Code sections 2701 through 2721 and 18 United States Code sections 1166 through 1168).
Sec. 4. Retroactivity
Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2010.
