Recognizing the dedicated public service of the Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo.
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo was born September 18, 1957, the son of the late Frank and Ann Caputo; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo graduated from Rivesville High School in 1975; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1996, and was reelected in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo served as the House Majority Whip during the 78th, 79th, 80th, and 81st Legislatures; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo served as House Minority Whip during the 82nd and 83rd Legislatures; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo served on the House committees on Constitutional Revision, Energy, Industry and Labor/Economic Development and Small Business, Judiciary, and Rules; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo served as Chairman of the Commission on Interstate Cooperation during the 75th, 76th, and 77th Legislatures and as Chairman of the Select Committee on Mine Safety; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo was elected to the West Virginia Senate in 2020; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo, during his tenure in the Senate, has served on the Senate committees on Confirmations, Energy, Industry, and Mining, the Judiciary, Military, Outdoor Recreation, and the Workforce; and
Whereas, In addition to his legislative service, the Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo served as a member of the Rivesville Town Council; and
Whereas, The Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo has decided not to seek reelection to the West Virginia Senate in 2024; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the dedicated public service of the Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo.
Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo for his dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Michael Lynn Caputo.
