A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §17A-3-7a, relating to providing for the refusal to renew a motor vehicle registration for failure to pay child support payments for six months or more.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §17A-3-7a, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 3. ORIGINAL AND RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION; ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF TITLE.
§17A-3-7a. Ground for refusing renewal of registration.
The division shall refuse to renew registration to any person who is six months or more behind in child support payments.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require the Division of Motor Vehicles to refuse to renew the registration of any person who is 6 months or more behind in child support payments.
