Referred to the Committee on Technology and Infrastructure then the Committee on Rules

 

Requesting the Department of Highways study the possibility of turning US 48 into Interstate 66.

Whereas, US 48, also known as Corridor H, has not been completed, it is the appropriate time to study the possibility of completing this roadway to interstate standards and examine the possibility of converting that which has been completed to interstate standards, with the potential that this could become Interstate 66: therefore, be it

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Department of Highways is hereby requested to study the possibility of completing US 48 to interstate standards and examine the possibility of converting that which has been completed as US 48 into interstate standards for this roadway to be converted into Interstate 66 in the future.

Further Resolved, that the Department of Highways report to the regular session of the Legislature, 2024, on its findings, conclusions, recommendations, together with drafts of any legislation necessary to effectuate its recommendations; and, be it

Further Resolved, that the expenses necessary to conduct this study, to prepare a report, and to draft necessary legislation be paid from legislative appropriations to the Department of Highways.
