Whereas, Steven Wayne Herron was born on February 22, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio to Barry Wayne and Barbara Anne Ward Herron; and
Whereas, Steven Wayne Herron lived in Dorothy, West Virginia most of his life except for his time in the United States Army; and
Whereas, Steven Wayne Herron was in the United States Army for 5 years, and earned 3 Bronze Service Stars in the Iraqi War; and
Whereas, Steven Wayne Herron was a disabled veteran and was in a veteran group in Beckley, West Virginia who helped encourage each other through life's challenges; and
Whereas, Sadly, Steven Wayne Herron passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022; and
Whereas, It is fitting that an enduring memorial be established to commemorate Steven Wayne Herron and his contributions to our state and country; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways name Bridge Number: 41-001/00-008.93 () (41A262), (37.94584, -81.41310) locally known as AMEAGLE BRIDGE NO. 2, carrying CR 01 over CLEAR FORK in Raleigh County, Raleigh County, as the "U.S. Army SPC Steven W. Herron Memorial Bridge" and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs identifying the bridge as the "U.S. Army SPC Steven W. Herron Memorial Bridge"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
