A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §15-2-5a, relating to authorizing the superintendent of the State Police to offer locality pay to members stationed in certain counties.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:


ARTICLE 2. WEST VIRGINIA STATE POLICE.


§15-2-5a. Locality Pay.

In addition to any compensation set forth in §15-2-5(d) of this code, any uniformed member of the State Police residing and stationed in any county designated by the superintendent as a county in which a pay disparity exists shall receive, in an amount determined by the superintendent, locality pay of up to $10,000 per year payable at least twice per month along with the member’s regular salary: Provided, That in any fiscal year, no more than three counties may be so designated. Such locality pay shall be prorated for any portion of the year in which the uniformed member of the State Police was not actively residing and stationed in the designated county or counties so designated.
