A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §7-7-4b, relating to allowing part-time outside employment for full time prosecuting attorneys as long as it does not create a conflict of interest for the official.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §7-7-4b, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 7. COMPENSATION OF ELECTED COUNTY OFFICIALS.
§7-7-4b. Part-time employment allowed for prosecuting attorney.
Notwithstanding any other provisions of the code to the cotnrary, any prosecuting attorney who is designated full-time shall devote full-time to his or her public duties to the exclusion of any other employment other than part-time employment that does not create a conflict of interest for the official.
