A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-46, relating to banning the use of electronic calculators by public school students in grades pre-kindergarten through six.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
Article 2. State Board of Education.
§18-2-46. Electronic calculators prohibited for grades pre-kindergarten through six.
Public schools located in this state may not permit students from grades pre-kindergarten through six to use electronic calculators of any kind.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to ban the use of electronic calculators of any kind by public school students in grades pre-kindergarten through six in order to permit students to develop math and arithmetic basics before electronic aids are used.
