A BILL to amend and reenact §17C-6-2 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to increasing the speed limit from 60 mph to 70 mph on a specific section of I-77 West Virginia Turnpike, between the Chelyan exit, exit 85 in Kanawha County, and the Mossy exit, exit 60 in Fayette County.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §17C-6-2 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 6. SPEED RESTRICTIONS.
§17C-6-2. Establishment of state speed zones.
Whenever the
_______________Notwithstanding any other provision of this code, the speed limit on the section of I-77, also known as the West Virginia Turnpike, between the Chelyan exit, exit 85 in Kanawha County, and the Mossy exit, exit 60 in Fayette County, is 70 mph. This speed limit does not apply in a construction zone, to trucks which are otherwise limited or on the stretches of road immediately preceding the toll plaza.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to increase the speed limit from 60 mph to 70 mph on the West Virginia Turnpike between the Chelyan exit, exit 85 in Kanawha County, and the Mossy exit, exit 60 in Fayette County.
