A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-7d, relating to requiring all high schools to teach fetal development; and stating that the requirement may not be construed as approving abortion.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
     That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18-2-7d, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 2. STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION.
§18-2-7d. Course of study in fetal development.
_____The State Board of Education, with the advice of the State Superintendent of Schools, shall prescribe a curriculum to teach fetal development. High schools in the state shall include in health classes the course of study in fetal development for students. This section may be not construed or interpreted to endorse, allow, permit or approve of abortion.



     NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require all high schools include in their health classes a course in fetal development.

     This section is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
