A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §16-5S-12, relating to establishing a program for collecting and reprogramming used cellular telephones for distribution to seniors without cellular phones for emergency calls.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §16-5S-12, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5S. OLDER WEST VIRGINIANS ACT.
§16-5S-12. Cellular telephones for seniors without cellular telephones for emergency calls.
__The commissioner shall establish a program for collecting and reprogramming used cellular telephones from retailers, wholesalers, individuals or other sources for distribution to seniors without cellular phones to use for emergency telephone calls.
__NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to establish a program for collecting and reprogramming used cellular telephones to be distributed to seniors without cellular phones for making emergency calls.
This section is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
