The Committee on Education moved to amend the bill on page 1, after the enacting clause, by striking the remainder of the bill and inserting, in lieu thereof, the following:

ARTICLE 4. SALARIES, WAGES AND OTHER BENEFITS.

§18A-4-10b. Payment of lump sum amount for accrued and unused leave upon death of full-time, active employee.

Upon the death of a full-time, active employee of a county board, a lump sum amount shall be paid to the personal representative of the estate of the employee, for accrued and unused personal leave at the employee’s usual rate of pay at the time of death. The lump sum payment shall be made within six months of the employee’s death. The state board may promulgate a rule to effectuate the provisions of this section.
