SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 144
Celebrating the life of Aaron Buchanan.

 

Agreed to by the Senate, March 8, 2024

 

WHEREAS, Aaron Buchanan, an accomplished educator and an active and beloved member of the Russell County community, died on February 16, 2024; and

WHEREAS, after dedicating himself for several years to a career in sales, Aaron Buchanan found his calling as a building trades instructor at the Russell County Career and Technology Center; and

WHEREAS, in his capacity as an educator and as a bus driver, Aaron Buchanan fostered his students' sense of confidence and their willingness to pursue their aspirations and achieve their dreams; and

WHEREAS, Aaron Buchanan's legacy will be felt throughout Lebanon and Russell County for years to come through the many projects his vocational classes took on in service to the community; and

WHEREAS, above all else, Aaron Buchanan was a loving and devoted husband and father to his four children, whom he supported in all their endeavors; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Aaron Buchanan enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at Free Hill Baptist Church in Nickelsville; and

WHEREAS, Aaron Buchanan will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 31 years, Stephanie; his children, Cole, Matthew, Seth, and Rileigh; his parents, Aaron and Olga; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of Virginia hereby note with great sadness the loss of Aaron Buchanan, a cherished member of the Russell County community who was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew him; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Aaron Buchanan as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's respect for his memory.
