SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 453
Celebrating the life of Trevor Jordan Times.

WHEREAS, Trevor Jordan Times, an award-winning golfer and senior at Jamestown High School, who was recruited to play golf at East Carolina University on an athletic scholarship, died on May 28, 2012; and

WHEREAS, an upstanding young man, Trevor Times pursued excellence in all of his endeavors, evidencing strong strength of character, loyalty to his family and friends, and an endearing sense of humor; and

WHEREAS, Trevor Times began his interest in golf as a toddler, spending countless hours on the course as he developed his talent and honed his skills over the years and earning numerous awards and accolades as a teenager; and

WHEREAS, Trevor Times participated in 10 American Junior Golf Association tournaments over the last four years, making a T11 showing at the 2011 Frederica Junior Open and a T9 finish at the 2009 Junior All-Star at Spring Creek; and

WHEREAS, Trevor Times reached the semifinal round of the Virginia State Golf Association Junior Match Play Championship and earned a coveted place at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in 2011; and

WHEREAS, a vital part of the Jamestown High School golf team, Trevor Times tied for third at the 2011 Virginia High School League Group AA tournament, helping the Eagles to a fourth place finish; and

WHEREAS, whether on the golf course, hanging out with friends and family, or in the classroom, Trevor Times could be counted on to do his best and brought countless smiles to the faces of those around him; and

WHEREAS, a great joy to his family and friends, Trevor Times will be greatly missed by his parents, Virginia and Terryl; sister, Kelsey; grandmother, Patricia; numerous other family members; and many friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an outstanding young Virginian, Trevor Jordan Times; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Trevor Jordan Times as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
