CHAPTER 439 An Act to amend and reenact § 3.1 of Chapter 138 of the Acts of Assembly of 1988, which provided a charter for the Town of Dayton, relating to town council members. [S 1081] Approved March 24, 2011

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 3.1 of Chapter 138 of the Acts of Assembly of 1988 is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 3.1. Government of town.

~~The town shall be governed by a council composed of seven members and a mayor, all of whom shall be qualified voters in the town.~~ The town shall be governed by a town council composed of six members and a mayor, all of whom shall be qualified voters in the town.

2. That an emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
