WHEREAS, Kimberly Poole, a career and technical education teacher at J.L. Simpson Middle School, was selected as a Loudoun County Public Schools Teacher of the Year in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Poole holds a bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a master's degree from Shenandoah University and has spent her entire 29-year career in education at J.L. Simpson Middle School; and
WHEREAS, since being hired by the school in 1995, Kimberly Poole has inspired generations of young people, both in her previous role as an English teacher and in her current role; and
WHEREAS, as a current career and technical education teacher, Kimberly Poole helps students develop practical skills that will help them achieve their full potential in all of their pursuits; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Poole leads the school's Intro to Computer Applications program, a class that helps sixth-grade students learn how to incorporate technology into their studies across disciplines; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Poole was one of 58 teachers nominated for the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award, which recognizes outstanding educators who have cultivated strong relationships with students and their families, demonstrated active leadership, and upheld the highest standards of academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, Kimberly Poole received the Teacher of the Year Award at the Loudoun County School Board meeting on April 23, 2024, and was subsequently honored at the Outstanding Educators Banquet hosted by the Loudoun Education Foundation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Kimberly Poole hereby be commended on her selection as a Teacher of the Year for Loudoun County Public Schools in 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kimberly Poole as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her achievements in service to young people in Loudoun County.
