WHEREAS, Friday Night Live!, a free outdoor concert music series hosted by the Town of Herndon produced by the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and its title sponsor MainStreet Bank, which features popular local acts from up and down the East Coast, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024; and

WHEREAS, in the 30th season of Friday Night Live!, live bands will take the stage in downtown Herndon behind the Herndon Municipal Center every Friday from May 3 through August 23, 2024, with performances taking place between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.; and

WHEREAS, over the history of Friday Night Live!, the event and its organizers have demonstrated how public-private partnerships have the power to bring together a local community; and

WHEREAS, the Friday Night Live! 2024 series is sponsored by a wide range of organizations and businesses; and

WHEREAS, in addition to sponsorship opportunities, Friday Night Live! events provide a space for local businesses to come and grow their clientele; and

WHEREAS, Friday Night Live! is powered by the hundreds of volunteers who show up week after week to help make each event a successful, fun, and safe event for the community; and

WHEREAS, a portion of the tip money from alcohol sales at Friday Night Live! benefits Herndon High School programs and events, deepening the event's impact on the community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Friday Night Live! hereby be commended on the occasion of its 30th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the organizers of Friday Night Live! as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the event's contributions to the Herndon community.
