Commending the University of Lynchburg equestrian team.

WHEREAS, the University of Lynchburg equestrian team won the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's single-discipline national championship on April 20, 2024, at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida; and

WHEREAS, the University of Lynchburg Hornets defeated the Sweet Briar College Vixens by a score of 6–3 to bring home the program's third consecutive championship title; and

WHEREAS, the University of Lynchburg Hornets and the Sweet Briar College Vixens were evenly matched in the fences portion of the competition, but the Hornets sealed victory with a near perfect performance in the flat portion; and

WHEREAS, the University of Lynchburg Hornets saw strong performances from each of the team's competing riders, including Emma Schweizer, Lucy Metzler, Fallyn Belcastro, Abby Zemp, Mackenna Moss, Jacqueline Needle, and Kelley McCormick; and

WHEREAS, the University of Lynchburg Hornets were led in the competition by Fallyn Belcastro, who secured four points for her team over the championship meet, earning most outstanding performer on the flat honors and all-tournament team honors; and

WHEREAS, the success of the University of Lynchburg Hornets is the result of the hard work and dedication of the riders, the leadership and guidance of their coaches, and the unwavering support of the entire University of Lynchburg community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the University of Lynchburg equestrian team hereby be commended for winning the 2024 National Collegiate Equestrian Association single-discipline national championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the University of Lynchburg equestrian team as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements.
