WHEREAS, Bryan Wallace of Clarke County High School won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state wrestling championship, completing his high school career with four consecutive state titles; and
WHEREAS, wrestling in the 285-pound weight class, Bryan Wallace finished the 2017 - 2018 season with a 52 - 1 record and led the area in wins and pins with 38; and
WHEREAS, after his dominant season, Bryan Wallace became the first Clarke County High School student to win the Winchester Star's Wrestler of the Year Award in the 37-year history of the award; and
WHEREAS, with only nine losses, six of which occurred during his freshman season, Bryan Wallace finished his high school career with a Virginia High School League record of 221 wins; he also finished his career with 164 pins, breaking the school record set by his older brother between 2010 and 2014; and
WHEREAS, in the fall of 2018, Bryan Wallace will attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he will use the discipline, coordination, footwork, and mobility honed during his wrestling career as a member of the football team; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Bryan Wallace hereby be commended on winning the Virginia High School League Class 2 state wrestling championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Bryan Wallace as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his achievements and best wishes for the future.
