WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer Group received the 2018 Pinnacle Award, the highest honor of the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer is a leader in the development, manufacture, and sale of paper and film-based tapes, polyethylene and specialized films, woven coated fabrics, and packaging systems for industrial and retail use; and
WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer operates 19 plants worldwide, including the facility on Eagles Springs Road in Danville that has served as a model of operational excellence for other plants and created a culture of continuous improvement; and
WHEREAS, an economic driver in the area, Intertape Polymer's Danville facility accounts for hundreds of local jobs, and the company recently announced a $7 million investment and a 100,000-foot expansion that will create more than a dozen additional jobs; and
WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer has also been a paragon of good corporate citizenship in Danville and Pittsylvania County by holding a bike drive that collected more than 70 bikes for local children, donating trucks and drivers to take supplies to Texas and Florida in the aftermath of recent hurricanes, and sending large teams to the annual Bridge to Bridge 5K to benefit the Danville Cancer Association; and
WHEREAS, Intertape Polymer's Danville facility previously won the 2016 IndustryWeek Best Plants competition, which recognizes plants that promote competitiveness, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain stimulating and rewarding work environments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Intertape Polymer Group hereby be commended on receiving the prestigious Pinnacle Award from the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Intertape Polymer Group as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for its contributions to the Danville and Pittsylvania County communities.
