WHEREAS, for 75 years, Sleepy Hollow Preschool, a distinguished educational organization based in Annandale, has greatly served the Northern Virginia community; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool is a cooperative preschool founded on the belief that children thrive when their parents play an active role in their education; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool has built a loving community of teachers and parents who are steadfastly dedicated to nurturing the school's students and their academic, social, and emotional well-being; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool's curriculum emphasizes learning through play and empowering children to explore their individual interests through various age-appropriate activities; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool's approach to learning is grounded in the importance of ensuring that every student feels loved and accepted, fostering each student's self-confidence and sense of independence; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool promotes inclusivity and diversity in its classrooms, creating a learning environment that is welcoming and supportive of all students and families; and

WHEREAS, Sleepy Hollow Preschool has received several awards in recognition of its exemplary success in the care and education of young people, including a Best of Annandale Award in 2019; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Sleepy Hollow Preschool over the years are the result of the support and guidance of the school's leaders and the tireless efforts of its teachers and staff; and

WHEREAS, over many generations, Sleepy Hollow Preschool has been an important part of what makes Northern Virginia a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Sleepy Hollow Preschool hereby be commended on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ashley Gormley, director of Sleepy Hollow Preschool, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's commitment to the health and happiness of the children it serves.
