WHEREAS, on March 14, 2024, Maxine Ragland Ross, a treasured member of the Henrico County community, celebrated the 25th anniversary of her successful heart transplant; and

WHEREAS, at the age of 50, Maxine Ross received a heart transplant at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, one of the top-ranked medical institutions in the country for cardiology and heart surgery; and

WHEREAS, 25 years later, Maxine Ross continues to find joy in various hobbies and interests, including reading and collecting African American literature; and

WHEREAS, Maxine Ross' health and vitality are a testament not only to the power of modern medicine but to the strength and quality of her character; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Maxine Ragland Ross hereby be commended for her 25 years as a heart transplant survivor; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Maxine Ragland Ross as an expression of the House of Delegates' best wishes for many more years of health and happiness.
