WHEREAS, Lisa Pennycuff, Ed.D., superintendent of Prince George County Public Schools and an esteemed educator and education administrator who has prepared young people for success for more than 30 years, will retire on July 31, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Pennycuff holds a doctorate in educational policy, planning, and leadership and a master's degree in education from The College of William and Mary, as well as a bachelor's degree in education from Queens College and an education specialist degree from The George Washington University; and

WHEREAS, prior to joining Prince George County Public Schools (PGCPS), Lisa Pennycuff served as an educator and learning specialist and as an assistant principal, principal, and director of accountability and instructional services with the York County School Division; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Pennycuff joined PGCPS in 2015 as the division's assistant superintendent of instruction and accountability and was appointed superintendent by the Prince George County School Board on April 29, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Pennycuff's career has been defined by her deep commitment to bringing families, teachers, staff, and the community together to ensure the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students; and

WHEREAS, during her tenure, Lisa Pennycuff advanced a number of meaningful instructional initiatives, spearheaded facility improvements and the construction of a new school, and enhanced PGCPS's wireless infrastructure, leaving the division with a strong foundation for continued success; and

WHEREAS, Lisa Pennycuff has supported the growth and development of numerous educators through her mentorship of staff within PGCPS and as an adjunct professor at The College of William and Mary School of Education; and

WHEREAS, through her inspired leadership and unwavering dedication to her students and staff, Lisa Pennycuff has made a profound and lasting impact on the Prince George County community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Lisa Pennycuff, Ed.D., superintendent of Prince George County Public Schools, hereby be commended on the occasion of her retirement; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lisa Pennycuff, Ed.D., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for her contributions to the Commonwealth.
