WHEREAS, in 2018, the Millbrook High School girls' basketball team of Winchester finished an undefeated season with a thrilling comeback victory in the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship; and

WHEREAS, the Millbrook High School Pioneers led 24 - 21 at the half, but fell behind in the third quarter; the team overcame a seven-point deficit with five minutes left to play, going on an incredible 13 - 1 run to defeat the Lake Taylor High School Titans by a final score of 53 - 46; and

WHEREAS, head coach Erick Green, Sr., was named Coach of the Year by The Winchester Star, in addition to receiving district, regional, and state Coach of the Year awards, for his exceptional leadership of the Millbrook Pioneers during their 28 - 0 season; and

WHEREAS, the 2018 season marked the fourth state championship victory for the Millbrook Pioneers, who also recorded undefeated seasons during their state title runs in 2010, 2011, and 2012; and

WHEREAS, the Millbrook Pioneers' victorious season is a tribute to the skill and hard work of all the student-athletes, the leadership and dedication of the coaches and staff, and the passionate support of the entire Millbrook High School community; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Millbrook High School girls' basketball team hereby be commended on winning the Virginia High School League Class 4 state championship; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Erick Green, Sr., head coach of the Millbrook High School girls' basketball team, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements and best wishes for the future.
