Commending In My Humble Opinion Radio Show.

WHEREAS, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show, broadcast live weekly on 101.3 FM in Charlottesville, is a show that focuses on discussing and bringing greater attention to issues that impact the local Black community; and

WHEREAS, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show began in 2012 as a class project of Maxicelia Robinson, the show's co-host, while she was studying at the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Vienna; and

WHEREAS, Maxicelia Robinson found a platform for In My Humble Opinion Radio Show when a new hip hop and R&B station in Charlottesville started to air around that time; and

WHEREAS, since its founding, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show has grown its audience to become one of the most popular African American talk radio shows in the local market; and

WHEREAS, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show is a founding partner of the Charlottesville Inclusive Media Project, which was formed with the goal of bringing more inclusive representation to Charlottesville's local media; and

WHEREAS, through its work with the Charlottesville Inclusive Media Project, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show fosters a greater sense of community, elevates conversations and stories of importance to African American audiences, and builds capacity to enable independent Black media companies and professionals to thrive; and

WHEREAS, the team behind In My Humble Opinion Radio Show includes co-host Maxicelia Robinson, co-host and production engineer Charles Lewis, commentator, contributor, and manager Troy Robinson, and community contributor Aaron Simmons; and

WHEREAS, through its thought-provoking and illuminating discussions, In My Humble Opinion Radio Show has become an important and uplifting voice for the Black community in Charlottesville; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That In My Humble Opinion Radio Show hereby be commended for its legacy of service; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to In My Humble Opinion Radio Show as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the show's mission and achievements.
