WHEREAS, ARCI Architects, an accomplished architecture firm operating out of York County with projects throughout the Commonwealth, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2023; and
WHEREAS, the firm was founded by its principal architect, Greg Brezinski, who worked for a number of architecture firms in the Hampton Roads area and started his own firm, GBA Architects, in Yorktown before ultimately starting ARCI Architects; and
WHEREAS, ARCI Architects is guided by the philosophy that the built environment should be sustainable and contribute to people's quality of life, leading the firm to pursue projects that will make lasting and meaningful impacts in the community; and
WHEREAS, ARCI Architects' diverse portfolio includes commercial and educational buildings, research and medical facilities, worship and community centers, hotels and leisure resorts, residences, and more; and
WHEREAS, some of ARCI Architects' marquee projects include Virginia Commonwealth University's Dr. Murry N. DePillars Building in Richmond, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science's Chesapeake Bay Hall in Williamsburg, and Old Dominion University's Oceanography and Physics Building and Applied Research Center in Newport News; and
WHEREAS, ARCI Architects has overseen a number of preservation projects over the years, helping to maintain the appealing character of the Commonwealth's historical architecture for the benefit of future generations; and
WHEREAS, ARCI Architects' founder Greg Brezinski has given generously of his time to mentor aspiring architects through the firm's mentorship program, lending his expertise to prepare students of today to be the architects of tomorrow; and
WHEREAS, ARCI Architects has been recognized for its preservation and design efforts with accolades from distinguished organizations such as the American Institute of Architects Hampton Roads; and
WHEREAS, through its steadfast commitment to its clients and the well-being of the community at large, ARCI Architects has helped to make the Commonwealth a more beautiful and livable place for everyone to enjoy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That ARCI Architects hereby be commended for its service on the occasion of its 25th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Greg Brezinski, founder of ARCI Architects, as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the firm's achievements and best wishes in its future endeavors.
