Commending Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad.
 
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 29, 2024
 

WHEREAS, for 50 years, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad has served citizens by carrying out its mission to serve the needs of others in the worst moments of their life; and

WHEREAS, in 1973, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad was organized with the objective of providing emergency medical services to the Towns of Bridgewater and Mount Crawford and the surrounding communities of Augusta and Rockingham Counties; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad's team of 1973 laid the foundation of community-mindedness, servant leadership, and excellence that has defined the agency throughout its history; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad began its operations in a cinder block building that was once part of the former Riddle Lumber Yard, and it now continues serving in the heart of Bridgewater on Volunteer Drive; and

WHEREAS, since the establishment of the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad, volunteer members have continued to uphold the agency's unwavering mission by providing service to the community; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad is a diverse and dynamic team ranging from highly trained paramedics and emergency medical technicians to support members who aid in the functions of the agency; and

WHEREAS, through its dedication, drive, and expertise, the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad continues to provide the highest level of care to anyone who calls upon the agency; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad hereby be commended for its commitment to protecting the safety and lives of local residents on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Bridgewater Volunteer Rescue Squad as an expression of the House of Delegates' congratulations and appreciation for the agency's dedication and service to public safety.
