WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare received Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2024; and
WHEREAS, the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet Recognition is the highest national honor for nursing excellence and serves as testament to Chesapeake Regional Healthcare's commitment to quality patient care, teamwork, and nursing professionalism; and
WHEREAS, the rigorous accreditation process for Magnet Recognition, in which organizations are evaluated using the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Magnet Model, took the nursing leadership and staff at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare four years to complete; and
WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is one of less than 10 percent of hospitals in the United States that has received Magnet Recognition; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that Chesapeake Regional Healthcare's Magnet Recognition will correlate with higher patient satisfaction, lower mortality rates, and greater job satisfaction among the nursing staff; and
WHEREAS, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare's accomplishments are the result of the wisdom and guidance of its leaders, the tireless efforts of its nursing staff, and the unwavering support of the entire Chesapeake Regional Healthcare community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Chesapeake Regional Healthcare hereby be commended for receiving Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Chesapeake Regional Healthcare as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
