WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson, a doctor of pharmacy degree candidate in the Class of 2024 at Shenandoah University's Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, will receive the 2023 Harvey B. Morgan Award for Advancing Health Policy from the Harvey B. Morgan Institute of Government and Public Service on March 12, 2024, at the Virginia Pharmacist Association's annual meeting; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson has demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to public policy by being actively involved in the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter at Shenandoah University, serving as its policy vice president; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson spearheaded the creation of a policy to support creating a safe and respectful work environment for pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians who are members of the LGBTQ+ community; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson also serves as the pharmacy team leader for Primary Care Progress and works with a local women's rescue mission to provide medication reconciliation and increase mental health awareness; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson has served as finance committee chair for the Beta Pi chapter of the professional pharmacy fraternity Phi Delta Chi; is a member of the Phi Lambda Sigma national pharmacy leadership society and the Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy Assessment Committee, and was chosen to serve as the student ambassador for his school; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson has been recognized for his dedication to pharmacy education by being inducted into Rho Chi pharmacy honors society; and
WHEREAS, Joseph Robinson exemplifies the ideals of the pharmacy profession, the Harvey B. Morgan Institute of Government and Public Service, and the Shenandoah University Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, which has given countless students the tools to support good health and wellness and advocate for patient care; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Joseph Robinson hereby be commended for receiving the 2023 Harvey B. Morgan Award for Advancing Health Policy; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joseph Robinson as an expression of the House of Delegates' congratulations and best wishes for continued success in his future endeavors in public service and public policy for patient care.
